Each brings their own unique background, energy, and expertise – and they’re already making waves across the business. From project coordination to service desk support, cloud engineering and more, here’s a quick introduction to the fresh talent now supporting our clients across NZ

Aaron Halas – Senior IT Engineer

Aaron brings over a decade of experience in IT engineering, specialising in complex issue resolution, project delivery, and mentoring Level 1 and 2 engineers. As a Senior IT Engineer at HB Technologies, he’s focused on building strong relationships with both clients and teammates – and he’s already proving to be a go-to problem solver. 

He’s especially energised by working with local businesses and helping them tap into the power of cloud computing and Azure. 

Approach to IT: Efficient, innovative, collaborative. 

Favourite piece of tech? His phone – always on hand and endlessly versatile. 

Fun fact: Aaron has recently taken up running and enjoys spending his downtime with family or watching sport.

Aleksandra Tylkowska – IT Engineer

Aleksandra has a strong background in cloud and infrastructure, with a sharp eye for systems that can be automated or improved. She’s analytical and adaptable – often the person in the room who can translate tech jargon into real-world solutions for clients and colleagues alike.

At HB Technologies, she’s looking forward to helping drive innovation and working alongside the team to share knowledge and spark new ideas.

Approach to IT? Strategic, analytical, adaptable.

Favourite bit of tech? Her gaming PC (of course), but she’s quickly becoming a convert to the power of ChatGPT for creative problem solving and faster workflows.

Fun fact: She’s a passionate baker, a keen gamer, and dreams of one day having a house full of pets.

Bailey Gravina – Senior Level 2 Engineer

Bailey brings hands-on technical depth and Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience to HB Technologies, having worked across system administration, cabling, wireless installations, data centres and more in Sydney. He now supports day-to-day client needs and provides regular on-site support to one of our major clients.

He’s a strong team player who values being part of a workplace that supports continuous learning, and he’s looking forward to onboarding new clients and building trusted relationships.

Current tech obsession? AI tools like DeepSeek, which give everyday users the power to build their own AI engines from scratch.

Favourite tech companion? His prompt-powered AI assistant, which helps him research and troubleshoot faster and smarter than ever.

Fun fact: Bailey recently relocated from Australia with his wife and daughter to start a new life in New Zealand.

Maxim Squire – Service Desk Engineer

With a degree in computer science and a love for tech, Maxim is now building his hands-on experience as part of our service desk team. He’s especially skilled at explaining complex technical issues in ways non-tech clients can easily understand – and he’s keen to grow into a role where he can take on tickets with minimal assistance.

Maxim’s focus is on becoming a go-to team player, freeing up others and contributing to faster resolutions.

Most interesting tech trend? Quantum computing – he believes the world hasn’t yet realised just how powerful this technology could be.

If he could have dinner with any tech innovator? Hideo Kojima – he’s fascinated by how Kojima has reshaped the gaming industry with new genres and groundbreaking technology.

Fun fact: Maxim has spent more birthdays abroad than at home – and he can’t live without his desktop PC.

Rachel Johnson – Project & IT Support Co-ordinator

Rachel brings a diverse IT background to her role, having worked across everything from Ubuntu server management to procurement and repairs. Now at HB Technologies, she coordinates project workflows and supports our technicians, making sure projects stay on track and clients are kept in the loop.

Rachel is passionate about creating a smooth, comfortable IT experience for everyone. She thrives on solving problems, both technical and logistical, and is excited to help our projects run more efficiently and effectively.

Her take on tech? She’s a big fan of AI-generated illustrations – no more scrolling through stock photos when you can create your own with a prompt.

Approach to IT: Calm, curious, collaborative.

Fun fact: Rachel’s a melodic dubstep fan and spends weekends crafting, biking, and painting native NZ birds and flowers.

Zachariah Hull – Level 1 Support Desk Technician

Zach might be new to the IT industry, but he’s hitting the ground running. With a background in academia and a lifelong interest in technology (inspired by his father’s IT career), he’s already becoming a valued part of our support desk team.

He’s especially excited about working closely with clients and helping them solve problems that make their day easier. Zach is methodical, empathetic, and keen to build solutions that genuinely support business success.

Most excited about? Discovering and implementing powerful new technologies for clients and working with a team that shares a common goal.

Favourite piece of tech? His phone (closely followed by his Nutra Ninja) a versatile tool he considers humanity’s best digital Swiss army knife.

Fun fact: He once emceed an RSA event for over 1,000 people, and in his downtime enjoys bonsai, skating, golf and watching the NRL.
